Doctoral Studies

The Doctoral programme is an international programme aimed for those seeking academic careers or high level positions in business. Doctoral students choose one of the departmen's subjects as a major, and apply to the Aalto University School of Business Doctoral programme. It is possible to apply to a specific subject, even though one has not studied that as a major in the master's level. The Center for Doctoral studies coordinates all the doctoral studies within the Aalto University School of Business.

The Doctoral degree (240 ECTS) studies consist of the doctoral dissertation as well as a selection of scientific doctoral courses, depending on the subject of interest.

The professors in charge of the doctoral studies in each subject area are following:

  • Information systems science: Professor Virpi Tuunainen
  • Logistics: Professor Markku Kuula
  • Management science: Professor Timo Kuosmanen

Technology Management and policy: students cannot select this as a major. If you are interested in this area, contact Professor Markku Kuula
